Meet EVA Vice President, Programs, Janna Roznos

Meet our Board and Members

This post  continues our monthly feature to introduce you to the Board and members of East Valley Authors, a chapter of Romance Writers of America. This week we’re introducing our Vice President, Programs, Contemporary Romance author Janna Roznos.

A woman must have . . . a room of her own if she is to write fiction.

–Virginia Woolf

Everyone needs a room of his or her own to write, a place where they feel safe, a place where they can summon the muse and create.

Writing is such a solitary activity that even if you sit in your crowded coffee house you are still alone with your thoughts, your keyboard, and your desire to fill the screen with your prose.

East Valley Authors is a place to meet others who desire to write just like you. We come from different backgrounds and different skills, but we are united in our writing. Some of us have been published traditional or indie while others are still struggling to finish their first book, but all of us have one common thread and that is our writing.

At an EVA meeting we are not stuck in a room of our own but rather in a room bursting with the vitality of other writers where we are able to share our frustrations, our triumphs, and more importantly ask for advice.

We have writing workshops at each meeting that cover various topics from craft to self-publishing, to website design. We have a critique group that meets immediately after our meetings.

Sure a room of one’s own is vital for every writer: a place to feel secure, a place to summon the muse, a place to fill the screen with our hard luck prose; but wouldn’t it be nice to have some place to share your writing and learn how to improve your craft?

So whether your room is in your house, your local coffee shop, or your car on your lunch hour, come spend the first Saturday of the month with like-minded writers at the East Valley Authors.

About Janna

Janna Roznos is a native Californian, who shares her home with a former professional athlete–a retired greyhound racer, two grumpy cats, and one very supportive husband.

When she isn’t out fly-fishing or sewing or searching used bookstores for vintage Harlequin romances, she is tapping away on her keyboard.

Her novella, Second Time Around, was published in the anthology, The Secrets of Moonlight Cove: six romances by six authors, set in the small beach town of Moonlight Cove, where everyone has a secret.
