Meet EVA Vice President, Communications, Alina K. Field

Meet our Board and Members

This post  continues our monthly feature introducing the Board and members of East Valley Authors, a chapter of Romance Writers of America. This week we’re featuring our Vice President, Communications, Alina K. Field:

Finding Community

I’ve had a lifelong desire to write fiction, but I couldn’t seem to find my way until I discovered the community of romance writers and East Valley Authors (EVA). As it turned out, my arrival there coincided with a revolution in publishing, sometimes called the Kindle revolution.

EVA is a small, friendly chapter of Romance Writers of America where authors and aspiring authors get together once a month for educational programs, critique, and the occasional write-in.  It’s a great place to find the resources to learn craft, to network with fellow authors, and to navigate this rapidly changing industry.

Whether you’re just starting out, wondering how to go about writing those stories that pop into your head, or you’ve finished a manuscript and don’t know what to do next, or you’re already multi-published, you’ll find people who understand! And even if you don’t write romance, membership in EVA and RWA gives you access to affordable craft education and the latest news about business trends for both traditional and indie published authors.

First time visitors are free. Come check out an East Valley Authors meeting and see for yourself!

About Alina

Award winning author Alina K. Field earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and German literature, but her true passion is the much happier world of romance fiction. Though her roots are in the Midwestern U.S., after six very, very, very cold years in Chicago, she moved to Southern California and hasn’t looked back. She shares a midcentury home with her husband, her spunky, blonde, rescued terrier, and the blue-eyed cat who conned his way in for dinner one day and decided the food was too good to leave.

She is the author of several Regency romances, including the 2014 Book Buyer’s Best winner, Rosalyn’s Ring.

Her latest release is The Bastard’s Iberian Bride, a full-length Regency romantic adventure about a spy’s daughter who dodges an arranged marriage to an earl’s illegitimate son and seeks the fortune left by her inscrutable father. When her quest draws a villain’s threat, the only person she can trust is the war-weary soldier she doesn’t want to marry—but can’t seem to resist.
