Make 2017 the Year You Get Published!

It’s a brand new year, and time to get back to that story you’re working on!

One of the main missions of East Valley Authors is to help our members reach that goal of publishing. Whether you plan to pursue traditional, indie, or hybrid publishing, we have programs that will help you improve your craft and your productivity.

In January, our own award-winning and multi-published member, Debra Mullins, presented a workshop on writing a synopsis, and we have more great things in store.

Janna Roznos, our new Vice President, Programs, is working on a great slate of workshops from published authors and industry experts for our upcoming meetings. Here’s what she has for us so far:

February 4

Author and editor Linda Carroll Bradd will present a workshop on Writing Deep Point of View.

March 4

Author Anne Cleeland will present Have you Found Nemo? Editing Your Story.

April 1

New York Times bestselling author Susan Squires is working on a special craft class for EVA, details to follow!

May 6

Graphic designer and EVA member Cami Brite will talk about creating and managing websites.

Our regular meetings are held the first Saturday of the month at the Azusa Public Library beginning at 10:15, with an optional critique session immediately following. Come join us for a meeting, visitors are welcome! The Azusa Public Library is located at 729 N Dalton Ave, Azusa, CA 91702.

June 3, EVA Retreat

This year we’ll hold the annual EVA Retreat at the historic La Casita del Arroyo in Pasadena, California. Put this date on your calendar, because our presenter will be the fabulous Chris Marie Green, who’ll lead two workshops:

  • Pied Piping the Muse: An Interactive Music Brainstorming Session, and
  • From Small Town, Texas, To A Colony On Mars: World Building For Whatever You’re Writing

East Valley Authors is a chapter of Romance Writers of America, a national non-profit writers’ association, but all writers are welcome to visit. If you’re an aspiring author, come check out the good things we have to offer!
